Dumbledore Quote

My Dumbledore Quote is “happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.” I chose this quote because I relate to it in a few ways. I think it’s trying to say something like even when there is darkness there will always be good things in the world even when it feels like it’s not. Like when you’re rotting in bed there is somebody enjoying life somewhere else because they know that life is only so long. I also relate to it because sometimes I feel like rotting in bed all day but instead i choose to get up and do something instead of letting myself be sad and rot in my room all day. It seems as its also trying to say sometime like only you can be the one to turn the light on during dark times and you can’t expect someone to just to it all for you. You have to be the one to get up and do it on your own without expecting a loved one to come in every once in a while to turn the lights on for you. You have to be the light of your darkness without letting it take over you.

My Hero

If i had to choose one person to be my hero it would be my old volleyball coach, Maddie. I remember she always helped me whenever In didn’t know something or when she noticed something was wrong and no matter what she would stop what she was doing to help me. No doubt about it I was her favorite. I also remember I wasn’t feeling good and she waited for me to get picked up while my mom was on her way. Even after practice she would stay and wait for my mom to pick me up if she was running late. After all that last year we still talk and we catch jump whenever I run into her on my way out of practice if she is coming in witch usually doesn’t happen but when it does we always talk. I also was extra close with her because we went to the same elementary school and she had the same 6th grade teacher I had at the time. Mr. Blaker. He’s a whole other story but we shared what we remember. But my favorite thing about her was that she was always there for me when I needed her.

The Haunting – Rad Reading – December

This month I read a book called The Haunting by Natasha Preston

The book The Haunting is about a girl (Penny) who is trying to forget about her ex. Since her parents forbid her from talking to him ever since Nash’s (her ex) father was found guilty as a brutal serial killer around their town last Halloween. She went shopping with her friends to find a body in the dressing room stabbed down into the chest. Most people are instantly blaming Nash and his Sister but as Halloween starts to approach the bodies start piling up. Penny is starting to believe the killer is copying last years murders. She can’t help but think it’s someone who nobody else suspects..

I really liked this book because it was well put together and the turns and twists were all at perfect timings. One other reason is it all made sense and I never really had to think about hard about putting two and two together when I needed to.

My favorite character was probably Adi because she was always the most understanding and helped Penny when she needed it. One example of this is when she says “ That’s what you should do. I’m trying to be a good friend here. I’m sorry I was so abrupt about it earlier. You can talk to me if you need to.”

My favorite part was definitely the ending when Penny put two and two together and finally figured it out. When she finally figured it out I was genuinely shocked with what happened especially when this happens. The manic expression on her face or how her eyes are completely void of emotion.
“It’s Grace”. (Nash’s sister) When Penny finally figured it out I was shocked because I did not expect that at all.

Rad Reading December – The Haunting

The haunting is a book about a girl who a few years back dated a guy named Nash. Nash’s father was a famous serial killer in their city. Causing their breakup forced my her parents. Her parents are the main reason she cannot talk nor ever speak to Nash ever again. But Penny finds a way to speak to Nash. She always does.
Penny has a small group of friends Omar, Owen, Zayn, and Adi. It was Halloween. Around the time that Nash’s father went on a killing spree in October. Adi and and Penny had went out shopping for Halloween costumes and as they walked down the hallway of the aisle. Penny stepped onto something. Someone. They both looked down and let screams rip from their throats. A body. A dead body. A knife jabbed down into their chest and the realization struck when she noticed it was the body of a fellow classmate of hers she had been talking to the day before. The police arrived and she was taken out of the store and sat on the curb. Looking up she noticed a familiar face. A face she was forbidden to ever see. But the man slipped behind the building before she could go to him. Nash. Her parents arrived at the scene and they went through questions. Basic police things. The same night she couldn’t stop but think. Was it Nash? Could it have been him? No way. Then why was he in town? That last thought she had finally crashed.
The next day she had finally woken up around nine to her phone going off. She picked it up and read the words from off her screen.

Nash: Meet me at the abandoned theater. 10 PM.

She wasn’t going to go but that night she found herself getting ready for something she shouldn’t have. If her parents found out they might kill Nash themselves. That’s night she showed up. Alone. No Nash, nobody in sight. She walked into the theater room and sat behind the door. Waiting. She heard a car pull up and loud boots come into the building. Expecting to see Nash she looked out the window and saw a man standing there in a white mask and large muscles. Larger than Nash’s will ever be. The man started to walk into the theater and Penny started to freak out. She couldn’t see him anymore and the boots footsteps got louder. Right as he was about to reach her he turned around and left. She heard the engine turn on and he left. That mask looked oddly familiar but the thought clicked in her head. Jackson. Nash’s father’s mask. That was the exact mask he wore on his killing sprees. But it couldn’t be him right? He was in jail. There was no way. Another car pulled up and a man came out of it, dark skin, dreadlocks, and perfect skin, Zayn. She rushed out and Zayn ended up taking her home. Thank god. She ended up texting Nash but no response when he ignored her.
Penny decided to drive to Nash’s house to confront him but on her way there she was stopped by a car following. It railed into the back of her car throwing her off the road. She rolled in circles and her car landed upright. The thumps of boots stopped her and she opened her eyes. Boots on the opposite side of the car. She got out and tried to run but she fainted halfway. The killer must’ve gotten her. But to her surprise she woke up in the hospital with Nash, her parents, and doctors. Nash in the same room as her parents? She must be dreaming. Grace Nash’s sister was also there. She never really liked Penny but still felt bed for her and showed up anyway. She left the hospital with only a broken wrist and a concussion. Her friends decided to make a plan. A plan to trap the killer going around and murmuring their friends, more of acquaintances but you get the point. The next day they all attended a Halloween carnival and as Penny went to the rest she tried to open the bathroom door but it wouldn’t budge. Eventually she got it open and something. Someone tumbled out. A dead somebody. Ruby. Pennys enemy. The police arrived at the scene and the whole police thing had taken place again. That same night. Adi was taken. Penny was sent a text message of Adi being kidnapped and a place where to go. The abandoned theater. Nash, Penny, Omar, and Zayn went to save her. When they arrived they say Adi tied to a pole and they rushed to her. Not realizing the door was locked and closed 2 masked people entered. They all turned around as the masked people removed their masks. Revealing 2 very familiar faces, Owen and Grace. It had been them all along. Their long talk about why they did it and how much they were in love stopped at a loud bang. Owen was on the floor a bullet in his head. Grace had the gun in her hand and faced it to Penny. The trigger was on her finger slowly pulling down while on the other hand, the police sirens got louder. Before the police arrived the room was filled with one last bang.

Word of intention

My word of intention is honesty. I’m going to try and be more honest with myself and other people instead of trying to lie my way out of it. Like when my parents find me lying I want to try and be honest and come clean instead of lying. I also want to do this because my parents usually know when I’m lying and I just get in more trouble. My last reason is because I think it would be better for me as a person to stop lying and be honest.
